Gozio Asset Tracking
Across the US, theft and loss of medical equipment can mean tens of millions of dollars lost annually, providing a massive incentivize for administrators to find a solution. One of the company’s current customers wanted to leverage the existing infrastructure to find devices rather than locations, and with that challenge, the team kick off a pilot project for Gozio’s asset tracking system.
Contributions
Developed design strategy and vision for product
Incorporated feedback to deliver iterative design updates during each of the three rounds of pilot
Goals
Develop new product to expand portfolio and revenue
Understand new audience (nurses) needs with pilot program
Research
The strategy team spent a week on site with our launch partner, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA), speaking with clinical staff and technicians, learning about the habits of the clinic and technical teams. One of the more surprising bits of information was that nurses often resort to hiding devices because finding one when needed is such a challenge.
When it came to researching the product, we developed a four-phased approach to allow us to test the feasibility of the idea as well as the usability of the product.
Explorations
Design
The rollout of this product was phased, as was the design approach. During each of the phases we learned new bits of information from the pilot testers at the hospital that allowed us to improve the design of the next iteration. The evolution of the product is detailed below.
